Wild Game Night Pizza

Turn the tables on take-out pizza by serving homemade instead. Top with your own wild game meat and any number of cheeses and creative toppings. Any way you slice it — it's still pizza. — Kris Wetherbee

Hawaiian Delight Pizza with Caramelized Onions

Use whatever game sausage you have on hand, however an Italian-style sausage takes this pizza over the top with flavor.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 475 F. Transfer pizza crust to a baking sheet or pizza screen. Prepare game sausage and set aside. Using a nonstick skillet, sauté onions in oil over medium-high heat for 5 to 10 minutes or until lightly golden (caramelized). Remove from heat.
  2. Spread sauce evenly over pizza, leaving a half-inch border around the rim. Sprinkle evenly with both cheeses.
  3. Arrange caramelized onions and sliced mushrooms over the cheese, then top with pineapple and roasted red peppers.
  4. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until the crust is lightly golden and the cheese is bubbly. Makes one 12-inch deep-dish pizza or one 15-inch thin crust pizza.
